OMS specification
The OMS specification in 3 parts
The OMS specification currently consists of 3 parts that describe and define the essential properties of an Automatic Meter Readout (AMR) system in accordance with the OMS communication standard.
Volume 1
General Part
Communication between meter or actuator and gateway
Volume 2
Primary Communication
Communication between gateway and a network / Head End System (HES)
Generation 5
Uni- and bidirectional meters, sensors and gateways for wired and wireless M-Bus
Field of application
All meters, sensors and gateways for countries that allow 868 MHz (e.g. CEPT countries such as EU and EEA) including all German electricity meters (also with BSI requirements), battery-operated repeaters. This specification is prepared for the requirements of BSI TR03109 V1.1. The recommendations from the OMS report OMS-TR-01 have been adopted in this specification.
Status
Recommended for development, especially for meters in operation with the German Smart Meter Gateway.
