Durch den OMS-Standard wird die Verbrauchsmessung für Elektrizität, Gas, Wasser und Wärme über eine einheitliche Kommunikationsschnittstelle realisiert. Für jedes dieser Medien existieren auf nationaler, europäischer und internationaler Ebene unterschiedliche gesetzliche und normative Bestimmungen.
Unter den folgenden Links finden Sie weitergehende Informationen zu diesen Rahmenbedingungen, innerhalb welcher der OMS-Standard kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt wird. Zum einen sind hier nationale Vorgaben aus den verschiedenen EU-Mitgliedsstaaten aufgeführt, zum anderen finden Sie europaweit und international gültige Normen, die die Grundlage für das Open Metering System und seine Spezifikationen darstellen.
