With the Open Metering System (OMS), the industry association has developed an open, manufacturer-independent, interoperable communication standard for electricity, gas, thermal energy, and water meters as well as submetering. The OMS specification is constantly being further developed and adapted to the requirements of the metering industry. A certification system guarantees the plug & play interoperability of all OMS-certified smart meters listed on the OMS website: www.oms-group.org.
