Cologne, 11.02.2021 – How do OMS-certified consumption meters communicate optimally with smart meter gateways? The OMS-Group will present the status quo in a free webinar that will be streamed live on February 24th from 1.30 – 3.00 pm (CET). Experts from the metering industry will provide insights into device certification and the application of the open OMS standard. The webinar will be held in German.
The title of the OMS-Group webinar is "OMS-Certified Products in LMN Interaction with Smart Meter Gateways", where LMN means the Local Metrological Network interface. Representatives from the OMS-Group, the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and the manufacturers of certified smart meter gateways will look at recent developments and perspectives with a particular focus on OMS-certified products.
Following the introduction by Andreas Bolder (METRONA Union), Spokesperson of the OMS-Group’s Executive Board, Jörg Feuchtmeier (Diehl Metering), Head of OMS Working Group 3 "Testing Norm", will explain the OMS roadmap. Thomas Joachim (BSI) will then look at "OMS Standards in iMSys from the BSI's Point of View". This will be followed by Uwe Uphoff (Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus) with his presentation "From Metered Value with OMS Protocol to Billing", René Giebel (EMH metering) on "TAF Versus OMS – Mapping the Current Situation", Janosch Wagner (Power Plus Communications) with the "OMS Solution TAF-7, TR-07" and Ruwen Konzelmann (Theben) on "Multi-Divisional Metering with OMS-Certified Meters".
Wolfgang Esch, (WEPTECH elektronik) a member of the OMS-Group’s Executive Board will conclude proceedings with an "Overview and Outlook on OMS-Certified Meters".
The Open Metering System (OMS) communication standard developed by grid operators and the industry enables total compatibility of devices with metering equipment from all manufacturers and various supply areas – including submetering. OMS is based on the European-wide standard (EN 13757-x), is compatible with the widely-used KNX standard (ISO/IEC 14543-3 = EN 50090) and integrates all media (electricity, gas, heat and water) in one system.
